ALGIERS- Algeria was awarded two medals, gold and silver, at the Japan Olive Oil Prize International Competition (Joop 2023) organized in April in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, and the results of which were revealed yesterday Tuesday, we learned on Wednesday from the owners of the two winning brands.

Belaâsla M’hamed, the president of Algeria’s National Interprofessional Council for the Olive Sector, said the program will almost double the total amount of olive groves currently grown in the country, estimated to be 500,000 hectares
